23rd January, 2015
On the 11th of January, 2015, in order to successfully undertake necessary visits before the arrival of the traditional lunar New Year, and in order to undertake the work necessary so that the monks at Worod Monastery will have an enjoyable New Year with sufficient winter provisions, the leader of the Karmdzee Cultural Centre, Tashi Huanjor, led his team to Sershul County and contacted the Worod Monastery to successfully conduct a pre-New Year visit. The team arrived in the evening of the 11th of January, but the cold weather made transport inconvenient, and they had no other choice than to phone the monastery to give the pre-New Year greeting. Then, on the 12th, Sonam Nyima, a monk from the monastery, came to the county town to speak to the team. From this very helpful conversation, the team came to understand the situation at the monastery a bit more clearly. They were also able to donate a woolen blanket for each of the monks, and to also give 500RMB for the abbot (khenpo) of the monastery, Padma, with best wishes for his health in the coming year.
