To preserve and restore Labrang Monastery's murals, which have a history of over 300 years, restoration will begin in earnest in April. According to the plan, two years will be needed to complete the work. The plan to preserve Labrang Monastery's murals was approved in June of 2014 by the national heritage bureau. So far, as part of the heritage preservation project at Labrang Monastery, Zhabdan Temple was successfully restored, and the following buildings are currently being restored: Jyuldod College, Jyedor College, Dukgar Temple, and Tara Temple.
