On the 16th of January, 280 lamas and monks from various Buddhist sects in the TAR gathered in Lhasa for the tenth meeting of the TAR branch of the Chinese Buddhist Council, to attend the comprehensive regional representative's tenth meeting. This time, the opening ceremony was held in the Tsuklakkang (gtsug lhag khang). In February of 2009, at the ninth comprehensive regional representatives meeting of the gathering of the Chinese Buddhist Council's TAR branch, Drubkang Tubtan-keedrub (sgrub khang thub bstan mkhas grub) was selected as the chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Council's TAR branch. This year, at the tenth meeting, he was again selected as the chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Council's TAR branch.
