On the evening of the 17th of January, the Sun-Moon Park Tourism Service Group, assisted by the Compassionate Association from Bde chen Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (Yunnan), organized a benefit concert "Eternally Burning Butter Lamp for the Relief Effort in Shangrila County's Rdo mkhar Old Town" in Beijing's 798 theatre. The famous female singers 'Jam dbyang sgrol ma, A cag tshe ring, and Se chen gu re le, as well as the well-know singers Skal bzang don 'grub, Mani Stone Carving music group, Li Wuchen, and so on, came to the concert and expressed their heartfelt desire for the recovery and reconstruction of the ancient town. Special guest, Sprul sku Rgya mtsho, together with the performers, expressed his best wishes for those effected by the fire disaster. All the funds raised by the concert will be managed by the Bde chen Compassionate Association and will not only be used for reconstructing homes for residents who lived within the old town, but also for the natural disaster response team to buy and ship equipment. Representatives of the Bde chen civil administration bureau and Bde chen Compassionate Association attended the benefit concert and accepted the donations.
