Recently, in accordance with the project 'Planning and Standardization of TAR's Schools and Kindergartens', the most important goal of building the TAR's schools has shifted from compulsory education to preschool education. Based on the speeding up of the construction of village kindergartens, not only is an excellent foundation for rural preschool education being built, but also, the educational plan for the TAR will be better implemented.
According to statistics, there are 1,696 schools of various types and levels in the TAR, as well as 308 teaching sites. Among these, there are 722 kindergartens. In total, these kindergartens serve more than 81,000 children. Throughout the TAR, attendance at preschools has risen by more than 59%.
According to information from the TAR's education bureau, this year, 237 kindergartens will be built, with bilingual kindergartens in the TAR's rural areas and regular kindergartens in the urban areas. Based on this foundation, a proposal has been submitted to the national government. According to estimates, the first plan is expected to be approved in March this year.
