Even though middle and primary school students have been given holidays, in rural areas, there is a rising trend that families are sending their boys and girls to monasteries or to schools in urban areas with high tuition, in order to receive guidance from teachers, so that they may raise their level of knowledge. However, some unusually far-sighted and philanthropic university students held a training class, called 'Sprouts of Hope', in Trangmar Township's Dakrik Primary School, from the 18th of January to the 6th of February, primarily in order to improve the low Chinese level of local students, without collecting any tuition. On this occasion, more than 65 students from grades one to six were collected from Dakrik, Drom, Akor, and Choja villages, and divided into two groups to study Chinese and mathematics. Every day, from nine in the morning until two in the afternoon, for more than twenty days, classes were held. In the course of studying, the first group, consisting of first to third grades, studied Chinese, and mathematics was also studied from the basic foundations. Classes were taught in accordance with students' level of knowledge, focusing on the points they found difficult to understand. The second group, including the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades, used the first volume of fourth grade textbooks, and studied and discussed the aspects of Chinese and mathematics that they found most difficult. In the blink of an eye, more than twenty days passed in a short time, however, in order to realize children’s dreams, teachers strove to teach for free, wrote brief reports, and checked students’ assignments, which local parents praised, respected, and foudn pleasing. Through this teaching program, students not only improved their education levels, but were also prepared for the next school semester.
